Zemina Jaroš

Ljiljana Jaroš, Zemina's daughter, was killed in 1992 as a fourteen-year-old girl during shelling of Osijek. She is one of several hundreds of killed children. In Croatia, there is still no official register of children and other civilians who were killed during the war.

Robert Kajušić

Robert Kajušić, as a twelve-year-old, was injured by a mine left over from the war. He lost his right fist and permanently lost his sight. In Croatia, since 1991 until today, some 2.000 persons have been injured by mines. Some 500 people died and those who survived live with serious physical injuries. Some 900  km² are yet to be de-mined.

Krešimir Ivančić

Zdravko Ivančić, Krešimir's father, was taken and killed in 1994 near Daruvar by Serbian army members. Daliborka Mikulić

Daliborka Mikulić, as a 12-year-old girl, was heavily wounded during the 1992 shelling of Slavonski Brod, in the backyard of a residential building. From the spring to the fall of 1992, 65 children were wounded and 27 killed in Slavonski Brod. Nobody has been held responsible for this crime so far.

Vjera Solar

Ljubica Solar, Vjera's nineteen-year-old daughter, was killed in Sisak in 1991 by a snyper bullet through the window. Nobody has been punished for this crime yet. Vjera's request for compensation due to the death of her daughter was rejected and she is facing payment of high court expenses.

Đorđe Gunjević

Đorđe Gunjević was imprisoned in 1991 by Serbian paramilitary army in camp Bučje. He organized an evacuation of 400 patients and staff from the Pakrac hospital. He was then imprisoned and tortured by members of Croatian army units in Pakračka Poljana. His house in Pakrac was burned down. He is seeking compensation, while the state charged him with 96,623.00 kuna of court expenses.

Victim of sexual violence in war

P.Z. Survived sexual violence during the war. The accurate number of raped and sexually violated persons during the war is difficult to determine. They often remain silent, because of a trauma or fear that the society or family would judge them, so the crimes remain unreported.
